映画ネバーエンディングストーリーに登場するお姫様がいる塔、象牙の塔。私はハイビスカスの雌蘂が、このように見えました。ちなみに「象牙の塔にこもる」という表現は、芸術家、学者が現実逃避的態度で自己の理想にこもり、芸術または学問三昧(ざんまい)にふけることを意味します。

The Ivory Tower is the tower where the princess appears in the movie The Neverending Story. I looked like the pistil of a hibiscus. By the way, the expression ``staying in one's ivory tower'' means that an artist or scholar takes an escapist attitude and retreats into his or her own ideals, indulging in art or academic pursuits.
