モロッコにあるサハラ砂漠の玄関口となる街、メルズーガ。乾燥が激しく汗は瞬く間に干上がり暑いと感じない。夜は放射冷却で肌寒いくらいになる。不思議な世界だ。砂丘は想像よりも巨大で、10m、30m、いや50mはあるだろうか。登っても登っても進まない。さらに地平線に永遠と砂丘が続いていくように見える。そこから登った朝日は、黄色と白の光で闇を溶かし、空に夢のように瞬き始める。

Merzouga is a city in Morocco that is the gateway to the Sahara Desert. It's extremely dry and the sweat dries up in an instant, so you don't feel as hot. At night, it gets chilly due to radiation cooling. It's a strange world. Sunaoka is bigger than I imagined, maybe 10m, 30m, or even 50m. No matter how much I climb, I can't make any progress. Furthermore, the sand hills seem to continue on the horizon forever. The morning sun rises from there, melting the darkness with its yellow and white light, and begins to twinkle in the sky like a dream.
